There are many benefits to choosing not to use insurance. Some of those benefits include:
.) No diagnosis is required for self-pay clients. While a diagnosis for some can be beneficial, for others it could have its consequences.

.) You are more in control of your treatment goals. When going through insurance your choices and treatment options may be hindered by what is “medically necessary”. Your insurance may deny certain diagnosis, the number and length of your sessions, and even specific methods of treatments.

.) There is no time limit placed on treatment. Due to insurance guidelines, limitations are often placed on your therapy process including, but not limited to, how many total sessions you receive, how many sessions per week, or how long your session is.

.) You will have complete privacy. When going through insurance, your private information (diagnosis, symptoms, area of difficulty, treatment goals, etc.) is all shared with your insurance and anyone processing and handling the claims.

.) You can receive the specific treatment that you need. Not every therapist is specifically trained to meet the treatment needs of each client. It may be beneficial to receive treatment now and pay out-of-pocket rather then use insurance and see a provider that's not trained in your particular area of need.
